Invitations and Public Speaking Engagements

On May 10, the eve of Yom HaShoah, Day of Holocaust Remembrance, Letters From The Lost was launched before a standing room only crowd that overflowed the seating capacity of Or Shalom Synagogue.

On May 11 in a solemn ceremony at Share Tzeddeck Cemetery, Helen delivered the annual memorial address before a large crowd of first, second, and third generation Holocaust survivors

On September 25, Helen was keynote speaker at the inaugural meeting of Women’s Probus Club of North Shore Vancouver. After the newest chapter of professional businesswomen received its charter from the national chairperson, Helen delivered an address highlighting the historic responsibilities that accompany leadership. Held in the spacious and elegant surroundings of the Capilano Golf Club, the event was ground breaking  in several important respects.

1.  Universities, Colleges and Schools: Douglas College, SFU – Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars, UBC – Iona-Pacific Institute (Annual Kristallnacht Commemoration), numerous secondary schools in Canada as well as in Germany and Austria including UNESCO School, Fehmarn, Waldorf School, Ostholstein, Anne Frank School, Barkteheide.

2. Churches and religious organizations: West Point Grey United, Ryerson United, Vancouver School of Theology (UBC), Unitarian Social Justice Forum, Ratyeburg Cathedral, Lübeck Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation, Evangelical Church, Bremen, St. Severin Catholic Church, Linz.

3. Museums, festival events etc.: Vancouver Historical Society, Berlin Historical Museum,  Cherie Smith Book Festival
